You have successfully completed your acne treatment and your acne has finally subsided! But those scars! Now your next skin goal is to get rid of those unsightly scars.
As a dermatologist in Kochi, I see a lot of people with the traditional mindset who think that acne is "just" a teenage issue and does not need treatment. But what they do not realise is that
untreated acne can leave behind unsightly scars. These days, with more awareness spreading on social media and otherwise, I have seen more youngsters and adults in Kochi approaching dermatologists for acne treatment.
Acne scars can be of different types. Acne scar treatments depend on the type of scars, depth of scars and duration of scars. We may have to combine more than one modality to achieve best results.
At Twacha Skin and Hair Clinic, Kochi ,we are proud to offer many options for acne scar treatment.
Microneedling radiofrequency (also know as MnRF) is a very safe and effective procedure to reduce acne scars.
What is Microneedling Radiofrequency (MnRF) treatment for acne scars?
It is a technology that combines the power of needling and radiofrequency heat to stimulate collagen tissue under the skin (dermis) that improves scarring.
Microneedling produces tiny punctures in the skin, that the skin tries to repair by producing collagen. This helps to fill up the gaps in the scars and thus improves their appearance,
Radiofrequency waves cause heat that again stimulates collagen, elastin and blood vessels that rejuvenate the skin.
How many sessions will I need?
In general, 4-6 sessions are needed spaced every 4-6 weeks.
What are the side effects?
Mild redness , swelling and scabbing may be seen that lasts for 1-2 days.
What are the precautions to be taken?
Strict sun protection is a must after the procedure. Since Kochi is a hot place, Microneedling radiofrequency treatment should be followed by use of a good sunscreen for atleast 1 week after the procedure.
In our Skin Clinic, Twacha Skin and Hair Clinic, Kochi, dermatologists strive to get the best results for acne scars using different techniques in combination.
