Many of our patients ask us what type of diet they have to follow to maintain good skin and hair. 

Here are 5 foods that can boost your skin health and maintain your youthfulness.





Papaya – Loaded with Beta carotene, a form of vitamin A, which is a powerful antioxidant. Raw papayas also have an enzyme called Papain, which causes mild exfoliation and can be used topically. It is especially useful for combination and oily skin.


Pomegranate – It is a powerhouse of anti oxidants called polyphenols- tannins, anthocyanins and ellagic acid, which quench the free radicals responsible for ageing. Ellagic acid has depigmenting properties and is an ingredient in skin lightening creams of International brands like Loreal.


Walnuts- It is rich in omega -3 fatty acids, vitamin E and biotin, which help keep the skin soft and supple.


Spinach – Rich in vitamin A and vitamin C - anti-oxidants with anti-ageing properties. It also has Vitamin K, which strengthens the blood vessels and is especially useful for dark circles. Vitamin K is a component in creams for treating dark circles.


Tomatoes- Rich in lycopene, which neutralizes the harmful free radicals generated by sun’s UV-A and UV- B rays. It has sun protective effects and anti- ageing properties.
